How do you make peach cobbler?

The traditional method involves making a crust from scratch, or using a shortcut—it’s much easier and less time consuming—to get the same result! I call this recipe Cheater Peach Cobbler—yum!

I was craving a sweet peach dessert over the weekend, but I didn’t feel like baking up a storm. I noticed a viral trend on TikTok, and I had faint memories of a childhood bake party that revolved around cheater cobblers, so I started getting the ingredients together in my kitchen.

The ingredients are simple: peaches, a box of white cake mix, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, 1 1/2 sticks of butter, and pecans (optional.) You can use canned peaches, but I recommend using fresh peaches because fresh is always better. If you use canned peaches in syrup, you won’t have to sweeten the peaches with sugar because they are pre-sweetened. With an ingredient list this short, you know you are in for an easy peach cobbler recipe!

This is the simplest peach cobbler recipe you will ever make, and no one will know you used a box cake mix for the crust.

To begin, slice 2 pounds of peaches (about 6-8 peaches) and place them in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle on 1/2 cup of brown sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon to coat the peaches. Pour into a greased 9×13 baking dish. Evenly sprinkle the box of white cake mix over the peaches. Slice the butter stick into chunks and evenly spread them across the top of the cake mix. Do not mix! The butter will melt and brown the bake mix beautifully. Place in the oven at 350F and bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown! Enjoy warm plain or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This tasty peach cobbler recipe is so easy you’ll want to make it often!
